Dave's Journey

So last July, Dave left home on a mission to find himself - and hopefully to find some hot babes along the way.

Dave's first stop was England to get some pointers from Kris on what chicks were looking for in a guy. Well, ya gotta have arms. And the more bulging muscles the better!
Kris, with the help of two friends and various small tools, managed to wrench the arms off the UK equivalent of G.I.Joe and give 'em to Dave. Now that was a transformation!
Dave also got a six pack tummy and lots of sexy tattoos which Kris assured him the ladies will love. He learned to play pool (and probably drink, though I wasn't clued in...) on the UK coast.
And, as depicted in his journal, Dave studied martial arts, dabbled in porn modeling, and powered around Kris's neighborhood on a motor bike picking up babes (what kind of neighborhood does Kris live in, anyway???!).

From England, Dave flew on to Japan just in time to accompany Roslind to Hawaii where Dave discovered that you gotta know how to surf to be cool.
Roslind also taught Dave the importance of getting in touch with your feminine side (in Dave's case, a floozy named Lola!).

Next, Dave returns stateside. But his adventures continue! Coming soon...

Here's some pics of Dave as he appeared when he left home last July.

And here are the starting entries I made in Dave's travel journal. (Obviously I got a bit carried away, but it was so much fun!)

ART DOLL COOL-ABERRATION 2009!

Exciting news (to me, anyway)! I've organized a new art doll collaboration - Art Doll Cool-Aberration 2009. This go, there are 9 players, 7 located in the US and 2 in Canada. Each of us will send out a doll start and an art journal to be worked on by each player in 6 week intervals.

Here's my doll start, Bravura Personified:

Bravura is a raw paper mache upper body that fits like a cork into a purchased glass vase. She's a little less than 15 inches tall including the vase. Inside the vase, I've placed tiny handmade dolls, one for each player that Bravura visits:

And here's Bravura's travel journal with my starting entries:

The pages in my journal are only about 2 1/2 inches wide by a little over 5 inches tall. We could name our doll, and we were each allowed to use one quote or 10 of our own words (maximum) to hint at a theme for our doll. I chose the quote, "The woman who makes free use of her attractiveness remains a disquieting type."

All dolls must be in the mail by tomorrow. I've already mailed mine to Barb in NY. I can't wait to see what my fellow collaborators make of Bravura!

I'll post pics of all the other eight doll starts as soon as I have all the pics. And, of course, you'll be hearing about each doll as it comes my way. :)
